Resources

I believe that having books and resources handy can not only help inspire hard-pressed children’s work volunteers, but also help them think differently. I have written many easy-to-use resources for school acts of worship, children’s ministry and all-age worship, and some books with a mix of theory and ideas around children and Holy Communion, all-age worship, and the church’s ministry to boys.

A few of my books have been written specifically for children and young people in mind, including some teenage survival guides, books of prayers and reflections, and a book on male Bible heroes for boys.

“I have a feeling this book could be the antidote to children losing their faith. It's so realistic! It's like a modern-day book of Psalms. It encourages children to realise they can talk to God about anything!”

Assemblies and School prayers

These books are designed for teachers and school visitors who don’t have a great deal of time to prepare, but want to deliver a really good prayer activity or assembly. These resources have been well-used in schools across the country, and there’s always something suitable.

Church Resources

From session outlines for children’s groups to service plans for all-age worship, there are lots of creative ideas that take the stress out of children’s ministry. There are also more specific resources on thinking through and resourcing the admission of children to Holy Communion, and some detailed and innovative work and ideas around boys and the church. Worship Words is a book of prayers and reflections ideal to breathe new life into tired liturgy and traditional habits!

Books for children and young people

I have written a few books for children and young people, including books of prayers for teenagers, Bible Heroes for boys to think through male heroes from scripture, and Teenage Boys books to help young men grow through the teenage years to be well and spiritually healthy. They are written in a lively and accessible style, and popular with readers.

“A great resource. This book should be read not just by children’s ministry leaders but all clergy and church leaders.”
